FieldFoto Privacy Policy

FieldFoto is an Android app for organising construction photos. This policy explains what the app does with your information. In short: your projects and photos stay on your phone, there is no account, and nothing is collected about you.

What stays on your phone

Your projects, levels, spaces, photos, videos, plans, mark-up, notes, reports and settings (including your name, company details and logo) are stored only in the app's private storage on your phone. They are not uploaded to any server run by FieldFoto. FieldFoto has no server and no user accounts.

Camera

The camera is used to take the photos and videos you add to a project. Photos are saved in the app's private storage, not in your phone's gallery, unless you choose Save to phone.

Location (optional)

Location is used only when you tap Use current location while entering a project's address, to fill in the address where you are standing. The app asks for permission the first time. Your location is not tracked, not stored on its own, and not used for anything else. Only the address you choose to keep is saved, with the project.

Project address, map and weather

If you give a project an address, the app looks it up to show a map and the current weather:

• The address is turned into map coordinates by your phone's built-in address service (Android's Geocoder, provided by Google on most phones). Address suggestions while you type use the same service.
• The coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo to get the current weather.
• Map images for those coordinates are fetched from OpenStreetMap.

These requests contain the location of the project, not your name or any other personal information. A project without an address makes no internet requests.

AI assistant (optional)

On phones that support it, you can switch on an assistant that rewords notes. It uses Google's Gemini Nano, which runs on the phone itself through Android AICore. Your notes are not sent to FieldFoto or used to identify you. The assistant is off unless you switch it on in Settings.

Purchases

FieldFoto Pro is a one-time purchase made through Google Play. Payment is handled entirely by Google; FieldFoto never sees your payment details. The app only asks Google Play whether Pro has been bought, so it can unlock it. See the Google Privacy Policy.

Sharing

Photos, zip files, FieldFoto project files and PDF reports leave your phone only when you choose to share or save them, and only to the app or place you choose (for example email, messages or Google Drive).

What FieldFoto does not do

• No account or sign-in.
• No advertising.
• No analytics, tracking or crash reporting services.
• No selling or sharing of personal information.

Deleting your data

Deleting a project in the app deletes its photos and everything in it from your phone. Uninstalling FieldFoto deletes all of its data. Projects you shared or saved elsewhere are not affected.

Children

FieldFoto is a work tool for adults and is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
